The Journey Not The Destination

Earlier this year, my family visited Smith Mountain Lake in VA for the first time. For the summer, we booked the same cabin as we did in the winter. This time, we made more of a journey of the drive rather than the destination. This is something we need to always keep in mind. It’s what’s the most fun about vacation drives. So, we mindfully took more photos of the scenery around us as we headed back down to the cabin. This may be turning into a yearly tradition.

Here are some fantastic photos my husband took. Some are my photos. I love them because it’s nostalgic of our times there and a great representation of Americana. He also grabbed some great views of the lake.
