My husband does not want me to reveal the exact location of “our private beach.” However, it is not exactly an exclusive area. A lot of people just do not bother to check out their local parks sites. If they did, they might discover a plethora of amazing boardwalks, water parks, hiking trails, and beaches that are free to the public.
The only thing I can say is that this area is local. The proximity is relatively close to all areas of Northern VA. There is free parking, a picnic area, bathrooms (although I recommend stopping off at a local convenient store or gas station first), and sandy coves. Watch out for seaweed growth under the water.
Whatever you do, don’t bring an inflatable whale. It attracts a lot of kids. And in this new world of you-know-what, you don’t need to win a popularity contest.
